新年快樂，蛇年行大運，在這兒介紹給您一個很棒的音樂會 ─「布朗五星」，時間是二月十六日晚上八時於庫比蒂諾的 Flint Center, 這是由五位都自茱莉亞音樂學院畢業的兄弟姐妹組成的鋼琴家團體*, 主辦單位將藉著這場精彩的音樂會，回饋社區，若您對這場音樂會有興趣，只要說明您是禮藍家長會／聖荷西中文學校的會員，主辦單位將給予免費的升等，也就是說，您購買30元的票，將可以升等在40元的票區，若我們有家長總共訂購50張票或以上，主辦單位將共捐款$200元給我們。中文熱線電話是408-421-0312.活動詳情如下。也請見附件的FLYER。

Happy New Year. Leland Bridge/Chinese School is glad to introduce you a fantastic concert held at Flint Center on February 16th, 8:00 pm. Yes, it is happening during the Chinese New Year, and right after Valentine's Day. It’s a good time to enjoy the classic and modern (movie sound track) music to celebrate the year of Snake.

Besides supporting the talented musicians, the 5 Browns (the introduction is following), you are also helping to support the non-profit organizations in our community. The presenter, CaptivateArtists has a "giving- back to the communities" program. If you mention Leland Bridge or San Jose Chinese School when ordering the tickets (408-421-0312), you will get free-upgrade for your seat, e.g. you spend $40 on one ticket, and your seat will be upgraded to the $50 seating area. If these 2 organizations order a total of 50 tickets or more, Captivate Artists will donate $200 to us. Thus, you not only get free upgrade, but also help us get possible funding. 五星 迎新年/ 新春音樂會

「布朗五星」(The 5 Browns)鋼琴家陪您浪漫迎春

來自茱莉亞音樂學院的同一家族，五位鋼琴家，五台名琴的同台震撼，五十指尖揮灑著從古典名曲到電影主題音樂。

電視主持界女王歐普拉稱其為「卓越非凡」，PBS、人物雜誌、60分鐘等節目相繼專訪五兄妹的音樂傳奇故事。

*五兄妹之一的Desirae即將迎接第一個寶寶的誕生，將由同為茱莉亞音樂學院校友Stephan Beus代為演出，他是位難得的音樂人才，曾獲茱莉亞音樂學院年度鋼琴協奏曲大賽總冠軍。同時，我們也祝福Desirae和她的家人。

Ryan, Melody, Gregory, Deondra and Desirae* - all attended New York’s Juilliard School and became the first family of five siblings ever accepted simultaneously. The quintet enjoyed their first wave of critical attention in February 2002 when People magazine dubbed them the “Fab Five” and at about the same time they were featured on Oprah and 60 Minutes. The 5 Browns have released 3 CDs that each went to #1 on Billboard Magazine’s Classical Album Chart. The New York Post has proclaimed: “One family, five pianos and 50 fingers add up to the biggest classical music sensation in years... When these kids do Rachmaninoff, they’ll make you forget about Marshall amps.”

In the Spring of 2010, their new CD “The 5 Browns... In Hollywood”, was released on the E1 Music label. They are also featured in a new PBS TV special, “The 5 Browns In Concert” that is airing on PBS stations throughout the country.

The 5 Browns’ Flint Center program will include classical numbers such as Rondo alla Turca, The Rite of Spring, and fan favorites Over the Rainbow: Fantasy for Five Pianos, Atonement and many more. The 5 Browns are exclusive Steinway Artists.

*Replacing Desirae (due to her pregnancy and Feb due date) is fellow Juilliard alum and Winner of the Juilliard School Concerto Competition Stephen Beus. Fanfare Magazine proclaims Stephen’s performance “...strikingly original... the sound he produces has extraordinary richness and depth, not quite like anyone else.”
